I’ve seen this question a lot — will AI tools replace ABAP developers? Honestly, I don’t think so. AI tools are definitely changing how we work, but they won’t replace skilled ABAP developers; they’ll just make our jobs smarter and faster. Tools like SAP’s AI assistants or code generators can help write boilerplate code or suggest improvements, but they can’t replace the logic, business understanding, and real project experience that ABAP developers bring. When I joined Anubhav Trainings for an advanced ABAP and BTP session, I saw this shift clearly. The train er, Anubhav Oberoy, showed how AI c an support developers — automating repetitive tasks, optimizing code, and integrating with SAP BTP — but not take over their role. That session really changed my perspective. The future belongs to developers who learn to use AI, not fear it. So, instead of replacing us, AI is actually helping us evolve.
